Local Businesses in Birmingham Anticipate a Busy Super Bowl Sunday

Preparing for the Super Bowl isn't just about football; it's also about the food. In Birmingham, Alabama, restaurants and catering businesses are gearing up for a busy and exciting Sunday.

At Iron City Pizza Company in downtown Birmingham, owners Amanda Belyeu and Dustin Allin are getting ready for a packed house and numerous deliveries. They've made extra dough and prepped pizza boxes, anticipating the rush. "We usually fill up right before the game, and it's usually full until we close," Belyeu mentioned. Additionally, they're introducing new menu items for the occasion. "We're making a tiramisu, a new dessert that we're doing — also doing a pimento cheese pizza special," Allin added.

Similarly, 1918 Catering is busy preparing food for Super Bowl parties. Owner Jason Brown shared, "We got about 500 to 600 people we are possibly serving tomorrow, and then we have people who typically do our Sunday dinner as well, so that's another couple hundred people that will grab something to eat as well." Brown highlighted that two menu items are in high demand for Sunday's game: "Wings and spinach dip, plenty wings, plenty smoked meat," he said. "That's the number one thing you're going to need for a Super Bowl."

With restaurants and catering services like these gearing up, it's clear that good food is an essential part of enjoying the Super Bowl festivities.
